Summary

The TFEIP supports Parties in the reporting of official air pollutant emissions and projections data to the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP). It also provides a technical forum and expert network to identify emission factors, establish methodologies for the estimation of emissions, and identify problems related to data reporting. Defra fund the following roles;

The Chair’s objectives are to:

The Co-Chair’s objectives are to support the TFEIP in improving emission projections, and to understand and communicate potential policy implications of any improvements or data gaps to the Authority. An important role of the expert panels is to review the latest scientific knowledge available concerning emissions and estimation methodologies, and to maintain and update the content of the EMEP/EEA Guidebook. The panels also serve to encourage the exchange of information between experts The aim of the secretariat support role is to provide administrative support to both of the Chair roles identified above.
