description
The green transition will reshape global markets, provide new opportunities for businesses and have benefits beyond just reducing emissions.
We are seeking research to be undertaken to answer some key questions for us in order to inform policy making decisions.
We will be looking for a quantitative, evidence-based narrative on the benefits from a faster global transition.
The objectives of the project are to:
Fill highlighted evidence gaps with robust, quantifiable and published analysis which can be used to directly support policy development.
Provide a quantitative, evidence-based assessment on how benefits change from different rates of the global transition.
We are aware of the additional costs associated with a global transition, including the
higher costs from a faster clean transition, but traditionally the benefits, particularly in relation to the UK are less well understood. The aim is that this analysis will help provide a more balanced quantitative assessment.
This analysis should focus on benefits, opportunities out to 2030, but also consider the longer-term benefits out to 2050 for some of the more nascent technologies.
