Recyclate Contract

Charnwood Borough Council seeks to procure a contract for the Receipt and Processing of Recyclable Materials from Kerbside and other collection systems such as bring sites. The Contractor should make all reasonable endeavours to ensure that all the materials delivered by the Council under this contract will be re-used or recycled.

We aim to start the Contract on 1st April 2016, the contract will be let for 24 months with the option to extend for a further of 24 months.

The Council currently collects approximately 18,000 tonnes per annum of dry recycling. This figure includes approximately 500 tonnes from other collection systems such as bring banks. The majority of collections are via wheeled bins with all materials mixed. Materials will be collected by the Council's Environmental Services contractor's RCV’s which will compact the materials and then deliver the load to the service provider's Delivery Point.
