Notice summary:
This is a scoping study on the co-benefits and potential adverse impacts of climate change mitigation. The study will summarise existing and planned research activities and current understanding of potential co-benefits and adverse side effects, to identify knowledge gaps and make recommendations for future work.
Description:
DECC is interested in identifying, exploring and understanding co-benefits and potential adverse side effects of climate change mitigation in more detail as they could offer important incentives or disincentives for strong action on emissions reductions, both at home and abroad. Thus this project will require a comprehensive review of the UK, overseas and international literature in this area.
The overall purpose of this scoping study is to provide a comprehensive overview and synthesis of existing and planned research, and to make recommendations for a future research work programme that will support DECC’s vision to promote economic growth by delivering affordable, sustainable and secure energy to the UK, while driving ambitious action on climate change internationally.
The contractor will be responsible for delivering a workshop as well as a final report of the findings and recommendations. Please refer to the ITT for further information.
