Stage 1 Programme scoping.

Key Skills: This is primary a desk-based research project and programme planning exercise. The successful consultants/consortium must however, be able to demonstrate their past experience of basic and applied experimental research and experimental design (both computational and physical modelling at a range of scales) in support geotechnical and hydraulic investigations. Significant research effort has been and is still being spent across these areas internationally, most notable the US (US army corps engineers) and in the Netherlands (Rijkswaterstraat). The successful consultant/consortium must be able to show
- knowledge/awareness of the latest research of this topic (overtopping, overflow and internal erosion),
- highlight some of the latest innovative methods of monitoring the proposed work,
- highlight their network both in the US and the Netherlands, and
- have a proven track record of working with these countries. (not essential but will be beneficial)
The purpose of this expression of interest is to determine the most suitable contracting route for this requirement - other routes are being considered.
It is anticipated that a tender will be issued in mid to late August for a period of three weeks.
