IT Managed Detection and Response

Managed detection and response services that minimises the time to detect cyber threats present in IT environments and reduces the impact of identified breaches through immediate action to contain and remediate adversarial activities.

MDC currently has a contract with NCC Group to provide managed detection and response services. This service was procured through the G-Cloud digital framework. It is proposed that this contract be modified to include the Lighthouse Laboratory (part of MDC) for a six month period.

This modification is in line the requirements of clause 72(b) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, where:

for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor that have become necessary and were not included in the initial procurement, where a change of contractor-

(i)cannot be made for economic or technical reasons such as requirements of interchangeability or interoperability with existing equipment, services or installations procured under the initial procurement, or

(ii)would cause significant inconvenience or substantial duplication of costs for the contracting authority,

provided that any increase in price does not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract.

The cost of the modification is £42,764.00, which is less than 50% of the value of the original contract.
