Expressions of Interest for the Provision of Caretaker Dental Services in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England (the commissioner) is seeking market interest for the Provision of General Dental Services and/or Urgent Dental Services in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire for approximately 20,000 UDAs. It is proposed this will be a caretaker contract for a period of 18 months starting from 1st April 2019 whilst a full Invitation to Tender is being prepared.

Mablethorpe is a small rural town on the East Coast of Lincolnshire located in the local authority area of East Lindsey (approximate population including neighbouring Sutton on Sea is 12,500). There are a high proportion of older people residing in this area as reflected in the Dental Year End Report (March 2018). The opportunity will be to provide services to approximately 5,600 patients per year.

The aim of this Expression of Interest is to;

1. Allow the market visibility of the proposed opportunity;
2. Support NHS England to make an informed decision on the future commissioning of this service.
3. To gauge the level of interest from the market of capable providers with capacity across Lincolnshire to deliver the services.

To this end, interested providers are requested to complete a short questionnaire by 19th February 2019 to express interest in this opportunity.

The responses received during the Expressions of Interest exercise will not be taken into account in any future evaluation process as part of the formal procurement process.
