G4_2_HCC_​021​ ​​PTCF - Park Road South Havant​

A call-off from Lot 1 of the Generation 4-TWO 2020-2024 Civil Engineering, Highways & Transportation Collaborative Framework (awarded 06 March 2020).

Widening of the southbound dual carriageway to provide a third lane southbound on Park Road South to provide additional capacity at the entry to the roundabout to reduce queuing back up the Park Road corridor from the town centre. This will benefit southbound vehicle movements including buses onto Hayling island. Delivered through:

• Extension of third lane (for A27 east) from the existing bus stop to the entry to Langstone roundabout.
• Resurfacing of carriageway for extent of scheme works
• Footway realignment, widening and resurfacing
• Drainage works
• Street lighting alterations
• Minor adjustments to lane width and alignment to minimise impact on central reservation on approach to roundabout
• Replacement of the bus stop shelter to revised location with a design that maintains sufficient footway width, to be undertaken collaboratively with 3rd party.
• Relocation of road signage to appropriate locations.
