description
The University of West London (UWL) invites you to submit a bid to supply E-Books to its Libraries.
- UWL Library Services and Archives is core to the student and academic experience at the University of West London, and supports our institutional strategic focus on developing learners as innovative and creative professionals.
Our library team support a student body of over 10,000 and 1,000 staff in all aspects of library and information provision across two sites with our main Paul Hamlyn Library at our Ealing site and a health library at our Reading site. UWL also has a possible 3rd site at Ruskin College, Oxford.
Library Services is in the final year of our current strategic plan which runs until 2023.
Centred within our strategy is developing inclusive, welcoming library services which reflect our university's mission of extending higher education to those traditionally excluded from it.
Two principles are core to delivery of our plan:
- A continuous improvement approach to service development, which
alongside year-on-year improvements in customer service has seen us
create key performance indicators based on new methodologies.
- Main-streaming of user experience (UX) research, which forms an
important basis for our qualitative understanding of our students' needs and expectations of a contemporary library service.
For further information, please visit www.uwl.ac.uk/library
- The go live date is ideally August to allow orders to be placed before the academic year begins.
- The contract will be for 2 years, with the option to extend for a further 2 years in 12-month increments (+1+1) subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of UWL.
- UWL may appoint the top two scoring suppliers. All orders initially will go to the first selected supplier, but if they cannot supply a particular title or supply times/licence options do not meet our needs (for example), then orders will be placed with the second selected supplier.
- The procurement exercise will be carried out in accordance with and subject to the SUPC Books, E-books, E-textbooks, and Associated Services, Ref: LIB4044 SU
Except where expressly permitted otherwise, all communication pertaining to this Further Competition process (including any Further Competition Submissions) must be transmitted via "EUSupply", UWL's web-based system, available at https://uk.eusupply.com/login.asp?B=uwl Attempts by Bidders to communicate with UWL via any other medium will not be responded to and Further Competition Submissions received through any other such medium will be rejected
