NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS North Midland (Staffordshire & Shropshire) is carrying out a market engagement exercise for the forthcoming procurement exercise “NHS England North Midlands - APMS Essington Medical Centre located at Hobnock Road, Essington, Staffordshire, WV11 2RF.
This Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contract has a start date of 19th April 2017.
The current weighted list size is 2,667.02
The contract price will be Global Sum plus 10% per weighted patient. This has been calculated by taking:
Global sum (currently £80.59) plus 10% = £88.64.
The contract value will be (2,667.02 multiplied by £88.64) £236,404.
The Service Specification will be fully developed following patient engagement and the successful provider will need to demonstrate that they can deliver service(s) of a continuously high-quality and will be responsive to the needs of the local population.
The Provider will be assessed on an on-going basis to ensure they deliver
the quality required. The services must be provided by GPs and Nurses and the provider will be expected to deliver:
- a)High quality General Medical Services responsive to the needs of the local population.
- b)Promotion of healthy living with the aim of tackling the underlying causes of ill health.
- c)Essential services.
- d)All Additional Services.
- e)All Enhanced Services commissioned by NHS England, the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the local council.
- f)Increased access.

As part of this Market Engagement exercise we are requesting bidders to complete a short questionnaire and submit it by the Bravo portal by 26th August 2016. Details of how to participate in completing the questionnaire are given in 'additional information'.
Please note this is purely a market assessment exercise to gather facts on potential providers.
The subsequent procurement will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when published. The anticipated publication date of this tender is Early-Mid September 2016.
The responses received during the market analysis exercise will not be taken into account in any future evaluation process as part of the formal procurement process.
This market engagement exercise is being run through the Arden&GEM Bravo e-tendering portal ardengemcsu.bravosolution.co.uk.
