description
The buyer has an urgent requirement to assess and undertake a health check against an application database on a internally hosted platform. Supplier is required to undertake a discovery and analysis piece against the database with the information below being a starter for the summary of information required to be collated.
The supplier is expected to produce a report document to the buyer outlining their summary position of the health of the database, their assessment of the maintenance of the databases and recommendation for improvements, taking into account the following:
- Security classification of data
| • | Respective sizes (GB / TB) |
| • | Respective numbers of schemas / tables / columns per table / rows per table |
| • | Data types of columns - |
| o | Any data types such as GIS, JSON, XML in the tables |
| • | Respective numbers and types of programmable objects - functions / stored procedures |
Is data partitioned within tables
Are there dependencies (referential integrity) between databases?
Are target schemas provided or to be derived from existing source databases?
Ability to to tune the performance of databases
Bandwidth of network connectivity between servers, if applicable
A summary as to the health of the database and a summary of how the database has been administered, supported and implemented based on industry best practice.
The supplier will need to provide DV and NPPV3 resources to undertake this assessment and have the ability to work from Birmingham or London (Birmingham preferable)
