description
Healthcare providers and other key stakeholders are invited to attend any of the three regional Market Engagement Events for the development of the future CAMHS Inpatient Services for the Midlands and the East of England.
Purpose
The Commissioners are holding the events to enable key stakeholders and interested parties to:
| • | reflect and feedback on the implementation of the new national service specifications |
| • | consider potential approaches to the future delivery and commissioning of services including New Care Models |
| • | flag any particular issues, challenges or risks in service delivery |
| • | jointly explore potential opportunities within the Midlands and East of England and how these can best be achieved |
| • | receive helpful tips for submitting future procurement applications |
Context
The events will inform the market of the intentions to commission a more sustainable CAMHS service meeting current and future demand and delivering quality outcomes for patients.
The national mental health service review led to the development of a holistic commissioning strategy for CAMHS services in the Midlands and East of England region in order to improve patient outcomes and experience by:
- a.eliminating inappropriate out of area placements;
- b.improving local bed availability aligned with community services;
- c.eliminating inappropriate under-18 placements in adult beds;
- d.ensuring a sufficient national bed stock for surge management;
- e.integrating and collaborating with local commissioners and providers;
- f.developing service specifications that support these ambitions.
Targeted audience
Healthcare providers; healthcare leaders from the relevant Clinical Commissioning Groups; local authorities; clinicians, operational managers and strategic service leads are encouraged to attend the events in order to discuss the future model.
