description
Sheffield City Council have an exciting opportunity to collaborate with you, our partners, in improving experiences for Early Years (EY) children in the Home Learning Environment (HLE). As you will be aware, Sheffield City Council is one of 75 local authorities successfully selected and receiving funding to deliver the Family Hub and Start for Life programme. The programme aims to build on best practice principles to maximise every child's potential and one of the funded work streams to support this aim is focussed on improving HLE support. In our commitment to this aim, we have recruited a team of specialist practitioners to provide advice and support to families and the EY sector. They are trained in the award-winning Making it REAL programme delivered by the National Children's Bureau. This programme has proven efficacy in using the most advanced techniques to improve developmental outcomes for children based on the four areas of literacy and underpinned by the ORIM framework. Sheffield City Council is now inviting EY partners, who have at least a 'good' in the most recent Ofsted inspection, to submit bid applications to participate in this vital work, with awards available for £2,000 for up to 24 providers and schools. This will not only provide an excellent opportunity for one member of your staff to access this award-winning training, but, will support in the delivery of intervention in your settings and homes with 8 Sheffield families with children aged 3 to 4 years old.
