River Cole Tree Clearance - Main Contractor

The University of Birmingham has a requirement for looking for a Main Contractor for River Cole Tree Clearance.

The River Cole and Tyseley Community Commons project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, and is delivering a series of interventions to rehabilitate an area of green and blue space in Tyseley, East Birmingham. The aims of the project are to bring the area back into use by residents as a community managed commons space and to improve biodiversity and connectivity. The project area is along the River Cole (as shown in the whole project area map attached) and comprises of:

• Ackers Adventure along the River Cole
• The River Cole in Kingfisher Park between the A45 and Hobmoor Road (the attached map shows an area larger than this but works will finish where the River Cole meets Hobmoor Road)
• Tyseley Energy Park along the River Cole from the A45 to the Grand Union Canal.

This piece of capital works focusses on the last two areas, a whole project area map is published on In-Tend as well as a map showing the areas for thinning and clearance within these.

All garden waste that has been removed will need to be disposed of by the contractor, and all costs associated to clearing up after this works must be included within the tender.
