Provision of Dental Services (PDS) in the West Midlands

The purpose of this Notice is to provide advance notice and advise the market of forthcoming procurements for high quality and safe dental services in the West Midlands.

Contracts will be Personal Dental Services (PDS) Agreements. There will be a number of Lots, each Lot covering a defined geographical area and being a separate contract. Lots will be grouped into four separate Invitations to Tender (ITTs), to be published from July to October.

The Lots are expected to cover the following areas: Redditch, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Droitwich, Worcester, Malvern Link, Ross on Wye, Evesham, Alcester, Stratford, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Balsall Common, Willenhall, Walsall, and Birmingham.

The first ITT is intended to be published mid-July 2016.

Service commencement dates for the contracts are generally 1st April 2017, although some will be 1st May 2017 or later. Details will be given in the published ITTs.

Contracts will be for a period of five years. Approval for a longer term (7 years with up to 3 years extension; total 10 years maximum) is currently being sought and potential providers will be advised if this is agreed.

Contract values will be published in the individual ITTs, but will be based on a fixed sum per Unit of Dental Activity (UDA).

The procurement processes will be run in accordance with Schedule 3 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015. The most economically advantageous tenders derived using the criteria stated in the relevant ITTs will be successful.
