description
The Contractor shall achieve the following objectives:
| • | Establish and deliver a survey to collect data from a stratified random sample of at least 1500 pupils and their parents/carers in both May/June 2016 and November 2016. |
| • | Develop and use a mixed-modes survey (using postal recruitment to an online survey in the first instance and an eight-page paper-based option as an alternative for participants) to collect answers to up to 30 questions submitted by the Department and agreed by the contractor. |
| • | Test that survey respondents interpret the questions as intended to ensure high-quality data are collected by carrying out at least ten cognitive interviews with parent/carers and their children before each wave. |
| • | Provide the Department with a respondent profile which is nationally representative (weighted if necessary) in terms of: |
| 1. | Proportions of pupils by age group; |
| 2. | Gender, education type, attainment (e.g. KS2 performance), age, school year, ethnicity |
| 3. | Regional distribution and Index of Multiple Deprivation |
| • | Provide the Department with timely results from the surveys which take place in May/June 2016 and November 2016: |
| • | A set of data tables against a pre-agreed set of cross breaks shall be delivered [8 weeks] after the completion of fieldwork; |
| • | A detailed presentation of findings shall be delivered 10 weeks after the completion of fieldwork; and |
| • | A written report including infographics presenting survey results for a non-technical audience shall be delivered 2 months after completion of fieldwork. |
