description

As part of the Government's commitment to decarbonise road transport, improve air quality and improve efficiency of freight movements, the Department for Transport commissioned a study to determine the technical feasibility of trialling LHVs on GB roads. This study identified essential work that needs to be undertaken before a decision can be made as to whether to proceed to a trial phase. This work is to be undertaken in this package of work, referred to as Stage 2, and will include the concurrent development of a monitoring and evaluation framework to capture benefits and costs for any potential commercial road trial.
