Commission 1: Needs assessment for Public Sector Decarbonisation Support
Assessment of the non-domestic, public sector estate buildings to help understand: the current state of the sector in terms of where it is now positioned in relation to net zero; and to identify the estimated total requirements of the public sector estate in the Greater South East to reach net zero.
Activity 1 - An estimation of the total number of buildings that require retrofit - with an indication of the key measures that need to be installed by sector and by local authority area. This will include:
- ogas/oil heated buildings that require low carbon alternatives,
- oidentifying the estimated number of fabric retrofits that may be required,
- othe potential for renewables, including the current deployment on buildings,
- oany other identified key measures that will aid the journey to net zero, as recommended by the supplier
Activity 2 - Identifying existing/planned heat networks (mapped as a visual aid),
Activity 3 - An estimation of the current energy performance of the public sector estate, by sector and local authority area. This could include an analysis of Display Energy Certificate (DEC) data and other key sources from BEIS, ONS and other areas
Commission 2: Progamme development, management and project management support for the Public Sector Decarbonisation Support Team
Activity 1 - Designing a follow-on programme of work
Activity 2 - Recruitment scoping and process support
Activity 3 - Provide dedicated project management support for a three-month period
