description
The Trust has recently undertaken a Cultural Audit which over 1,750 staff responded to. The themes identified as having the most extensive and detrimental impact on individual and organisational well-being included:
| • | Unsupportive leader/manager behaviour |
| • | Violence and aggression; internal and/or external behaviour |
Key themes taken from the staff survey which the Trust is focusing on as identified in the survey include:
| • | Tackling bullying and harassment |
| • | Protecting our staff from abuse |
The Trust's most recent report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) identified:
- There were allegations of bullying in some parts of the Trust.
Much work on improving the culture of the organisation has been undertaken to date to address the concerns of staff.
Several strategies have also been launched to provide support to staff and to identify what is required from the leaders within the Trust; Engagement Strategy, Leadership Strategy and Leadership Charter have been launched which align to the national NHS Healthcare Leadership Model, setting out the leadership behaviours we expect all of our leaders to demonstrate a Health and Well-being Strategy.
To further address the concerns raised in regard to bullying and harassment the Trust has produced an action plan and is looking for some elements of the plan to be provided from an external source. These elements will be used and maintained by the Trust in the future.
