PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS FOR TRANSPARENCY PURPOSES ONLY, ONLY CAPABLE SUPPLIERS UNDER THE DIGITAL SERVICES FRAMEWORK WILL BE INVITED TO BID.
The key required outcomes of the “Apply for a Patent” Alpha phase of the project are as follows:
- Provide a new online prototype digital service to our Patents Service customers.
- Implement a prototype back office solution to enable IPO staff to process patent applications.
- Obtain information from our Patents service customers on the best approach to satisfy their user
needs – we will involve the customers in the development of our Digital offering, ensuring that our delivery will provide the best user experience to satisfy their needs.
- Prove the Alpha can be taken forward as a Beta project.
- Provide a capability that can write/read information to/from a new repository, to manage patent applications.
- Build in workflow functionality in order to optimize business process efficiencies.
- In providing an online application facility, ensure that appropriate records are stored on the customer database, and support the strategy for a Single Customer View.
- Provide knowledge transfer to members of the IPO IT Team in a number of areas, capabilities and skill sets.
The key required outcomes of the “Apply for a Design” Beta phase of the project are as follows:
- New digital Designs web service is launched on GOV.UK before the end of March 2016.
- OHIM operating system is implemented and used to process designs work by the end of March 2016.
- Data is successfully migrated from Acord and DRIMS to the new OHIM solution.
- All of the conditions imposed by GDS are met by March 2016, these are:
- The back end system is evaluated in a BIS service assessment.
- The Department must return to CO to seek further approval to go to live beta.
- The Service must pass a Service Assessment before going to live beta.
- All internal and external business change activity is completed to prepare for the launch of the new digital web service and implementation of the new OHIM operating system.
