description

The Works comprise the replacement of the copper roof coverings to the main roof of the Guildhall, a Grade II* listed structure in the centre of Southampton. These works require Listed Building Consent which has already been applied for through Southampton City Council’s Historic Environment Group Leader. All aspects of the works are subject to the requirements of Southampton City Council’s Historic Environment Group Leader.

The works occur within a highly sensitive part of the building adjacent to the offices of Live Nation staff, Council members and senior staff. The roof is also located above the performance hall within the Guildhall which has ornate decorative ceilings. The Contractor must maintain tight supervision of all operatives throughout the period of the Works.

Additional information: Applicants will be required to apply via "Supply Southampton" website which can be accessed via, http://www.southampton.gov.uk/business-licensing/supply-council/supply-portal.aspx where you can register your details and access documentation. All documentation including questionnaires must be completed and submitted by no later than the time/date indicated. The Council undertakes to use reasonable endeavours to hold confidential any information provided in the proposal submitted, subject to the Council's obligations under law, including the Freedom of Information Act 2000. If the applicant considers that any of the information submitted in the proposal should not be disclosed because of its sensitivity then this should be stated with the reason for considering it sensitive. The Council will then consider the sensitivity statement before replying to any request received under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Any enquiries regarding the tender process must be directed through the website to the Curtis Fitch System.
