description
| Tenders are invited for the provision of for the management of the Councils' fleet tyres including the supply of vehicle tyres and related, ancillary products and services for a variety of local-authority vehicles. A complete definition of the required products and services are defined in the procurement documents. Services include, but are not limited to: (a) | ensuring that vehicles are in a safe and legally compliant condition at all times (in respect of tyres and ancillary components); |
| (b) | attending to vehicle breakdowns resulting from tyre faults and rectifying these faults; and |
| (c) | rectifying any damage consequent to tyre faults such as punctures; and |
| (d) | monitoring tyre condition for wear and damage on a routine basis; and |
| (e) | supplying and replacing tyres which have reached or are nearing the end of their usable life; and |
| (f) | carrying out any ancillary (to tyres) services required such as: |
| • | tyre disposal |
| • | tyre valve and valve extension replacement |
| • | wheel balance |
| • | calibration and adjustment of vehicle tracking |
| • | turn on the rim and twinning |
| • | tyre re-treading and grooving |
| • | fitting wheel nut indicators or ring clips as required by the Councils |
