Home Office and its representative Border Force International have deployed staff in Lagos, Nigeria to help building border capability and enhance the welfare of detainees in developing countries. To comply with Health & Safety requirements and improve detainee practices Border Force require a Specimen Isolation Unit to be installed in a designated Custody areas for processing individuals suspected of being involved in the illicit importation of controlled drugs by means of internal body concealments.

This contract will commence in June 2017 following a sourcing exercise based on written quotation. The purpose of this document is to make the Statement of Requirements and the Home Office Terms and Conditions available, and to invite potential suppliers to confirm they can fully meet the Statement of requirements by providing a quotation along with acceptance of the Home Office terms and Conditions which will apply to this purchase. Potential suppliers are invited to send an email to Christopher Wynne, Home office Commercial: Christopher.Wynne@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, and copying Janine Melia, Home Office Commercial: Janine.Melia@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, confirming their interest in this opportunity and providing details of their product which has the ability to meet the Statement of requirements and in addition, a full breakdown of costs and details including :

  • Lead times - Details of associated lead times including delivery and installation
  • Delivery and Shipment information - Bidders should include a full breakdown of sea freight and air freight costs and related timescales for each method to enable the Authority to establish which option is preferable.
  • Training - Bidder should provide details of the training options and suggested methods along with a breakdown of costs.
  • Warranty - Bidder will need to confirm the length of the warranty period and what is includes as part of the response and also provide the associated costs are if applicable.
  • Maintenance - Bidder should provide detail of the level of maintenance required and suggested frequency.

Responses should be submitted by 17.00 hours on 29th June 2017
