Tomlinson Centre Cafe Market Engagement Event

The Tomlinson Centre (TTC) https://www.thetomlinsoncentre.co.uk/ set up as a professional development centre (PDC) in 2009 specifically to support the improvement of educational outcomes in the London Borough of Hackney by providing a high quality training environment and serviced facilities. The Tomlinson Centre is run by Hackney Council on a not-for-profit basis.

Pre-pandemic the centre provided 35,000 places each year for those on training, attending meetings, conferences, away days or AGM's. Pre-pandemic, these bookings generate an annual catering revenue of £165,000 - £176,000 pa through a service contract.

The Tomlinson Centre is part of Hackney Council's building infrastructure. It is therefore linked

to activities in other local authority buildings from the Town Hall, to schools and other Hackney Venues. The centre has helped supply catering to local Children's Centres, schools and to council committee rooms.

For this market engagement exercise, we are looking to see how we might work with a partner. We are looking to build a new contractual arrangement to be introduced from April / May 2023 with an organisation to develop a new catering and hospitality offer for The Tomlinson Centre.

Following the market event, a specification will be issued and a formal tender opportunity published. Interested parties will need to formally tender for the provision. Tender documentation is expected to be issued in summer 2022.
