description

PD Ports currently operate an automated gate on the ISPS boundary primarily used to deliver containers to neighbouring distribution centres (DC) which PD Ports has a commercial relationship with. The automated gate and the containers that are delivered to the DC's are controlled by the Terminal Operating System (TOS) Navis.

One of the main elements of the procedure to go through the automated gate is to identify the Terminal Tractor (TT) and gate lane it resides in (IN lane or OUT lane). The current process uses RFID technology and related legacy software which is integrated with our TOS. This is the area of the process that needs replacing as it is now end of life.
