Tender for the manufacture of specialist structural glazing for the AUB Innovation Studio

Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) has secured funding from Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (DLEP) to build a new state-of-the art facility to support and develop digital and creative industries. Acting as a catalyst for growth, the Innovation Studio will provide a base for small business start-ups to develop their ideas, many of which will come from graduates of the University. These businesses will be supported by leading experts who work at the University and from contacts within the wider industry.

CRAB Studio has been appointed as architects to design the Innovation Studio and have sought to develop a building which is both functional and inspiring. It is a 600sqm studio space for approximately 20 people for design development and beyond. Prefabricated Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) will form the main construction material with specialist structural glazing completing the build. AKT II are the structural engineers for the project and are designing and engineering the cross laminated timber structure and glazing. This tender is for the manufacture of the glazing.
