description
NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) on behalf of NHS North Manchester, NHS Central Manchester and NHS South Manchester Clinical Commissioning Groups (the CCGs) and led by NHS Central Manchester CCG are looking to gauge market interest and conditions for The Provision of a Community Neurology Service.
The CCG Commissioners are seeking responses from viable providers or individuals (Specialist Nurses or GP’s with a Special Interest in Neurology) who would be interested in providing a community Neurology Service either as the lead provider or as part of a collaborative partnership with other providers. Assurance of competence, quality, innovation and safety standards is required. Elective neurology out-patient activity is currently commissioned by Specialised Commissioning and will become the responsibility of CCGs sometime in 2015.
Approximately 40% of all referral to Secondary care Neurology outpatient departments are for people with suspected or diagnosed Epilepsy or Headaches. We recognise that most of these patients could be managed in a Community service and as there is a need to add additional capacity into the system the 3 Manchester CCG’s are looking to commission a Community Neurology service that is outcomes focused.
Potential providers who wish to express an interest in the Community Neurology Service are asked to provide the following information and details relevant to the service:
- Please provide details of any experience you have in delivering/managing similar services.
- From when do you have capacity to deliver the contract from? Please provide brief details on current and future capacity.
- How extensive is your knowledge of the current Manchester health economy in relation to these services.
- Please identify your current organisation structure (public limited company, limited company, partnership, sole trader, charity, other public sector organisation, etc).
- Please state which of the Manchester CCG’s listed above you could provide services for stating the clinical areas for each.
At this point individual CCG’s are trying to gauge market interest before deciding how to proceed, therefore potential providers need to assume at this stage that if CCG’s go out to procure services that could be on a Manchester footprint or individual CCG footprint.
Additional information: Potential providers wishing to express an interest in participating in the Request For Information and any future Tender Process should do so by, emailing their interest to andrew_payne@nhs.net no later than 12 noon on Friday 10th July 2015.
Please note that an expression of interest in delivering The Neurology Community Service is not a tender response. An expression of interest is no indication of a commitment to participate in the tender process nor does it infer any special status on those providers who do submit an interest. Potential providers who do not express an interest at this stage will still be able to apply in the future. All responses will be treated in confidence. This Expression of Interest does not commit NHS Central Manchester CCG or the other named CCGs to undertake the procurement of The Neurology Community Service and NHS Central Manchester CCG and the other named CCGs have the right, at this stage, to withdraw the notice.
