description

Highways England is looking to set up a contract for provision of air quality monitoring services as part of Highways England work to support delivery of the Government's National Air Quality Plan (NAQP).

The purpose of this project is to collect air quality monitoring data for nitrogen dioxide (NO2) using diffusion tubes to investigate the effectiveness of new type of air quality barrier, the SmogStop® barrier, at removing NO2 at a trial site alongside the M1 south bound carriageway (north of Tibshelf Service Station).

This will require physically deploying and changing the diffusion tubes at a single controlled barrier research site on a monthly basis as detailed in Appendix A.
