The University of Sheffield Accommodation and Commercial Services (ACS) wishes to appoint a customer facing company for the provision of a linen (Laundry and/or Hire) service who can provide an excellent service that is efficient and reliable. The services provided by the successful contractor are key to those provided to our customers, and as such the University requires a company who can respond to its needs, sometimes at very short notice.

The primary business of ACS is the accommodation of its student residents, however during the summer months or in times of lower than anticipated demand for this accommodation, it also operates an ever expanding conference service and business.

It is this business which requires the laundering of ACS's owned linen and furnishings (e.g. sheets, towels, curtains), and also the hire of linen (e.g. sheets and towels). Whilst the majority of the business requirement is currently through the summer months, there may also be an ad-hoc requirements during term time laundering. Such summer business can vary from conferences of a few hundred people, to 3000+, however the larger conferences are often planned with at least 1 years' notice.

The service to be provided will include the provision of linen (hire and potentially purchase), delivery and collection to and from specific agreed locations. Minimum notification times will be agreed between the parties. The contract is based on an initial 1 year, followed by an optional further 3 years, and optional final 1 year, subject to satisfactory performance.

Your tender response must be submitted through the University's on line e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sheffield to arrive by the date and time specified in the ITT document. Late tenders will not be considered.

The closing date for the return of tenders is 12 noon on 16th April 2018 (UK time).
