Delivery of Atrial Fibrillation Training – Request For Proposal (RFP) for NHS Tameside and Glossop CCG

This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) published on behalf of NHS Tameside & Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). The purpose of this RFP is to advertise an opportunity for a Provider to deliver Atrial Fibrillation training to GP practices within the Tameside & Glossop CCG area.

Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is a common heart arrhythmia affecting approximately 1.8% of the population. AF is associated with symptoms such as breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness and chest discomfort and is a major predisposing factor for stroke. However AF can also be asymptomatic and will often only be diagnosed once a person has had a stroke. In order to improve health outcomes for people with AF, more patients (in particular those who are asymptomatic) need to be identified and prescribed anti-coagulants.

The training will require a clinician to deliver 1:1 training to practice nurses within Tameside & Glossop CCG, with the aim of increasing the identification and management of AF within Primary Care.

Additional information: Potential Providers are requested to respond to the following questions by no later than 12 noon on Friday 19th June 2015:

1. Please provide details of any experience you have in delivering/managing similar projects.
2. From when do you have capacity to deliver the training from? Please provide brief details on current and future capacity.
3. Please identify your current organisation structure (public limited company, limited company, partnership, sole trader, charity, other public sector organisation, etc).
4. Please describe the proposed staffing model to deliver this work
5. Please include all costs for setting up the project (including a breakdown of hourly rates of pay)
6. Please provide details of any insurance and indemnity cover that will be in place
7. Bidders must confirm that they understand their responsibilities for Information Governance within the context of the NHS and recognise their responsibilities under data protection, IGOSC, and IG Toolkit requirements.

All responses will be treated in confidence. This RFP does not commit NHS Tameside & Glossop CCG to undertake the AF training programme and NHS Tameside & Glossop CCG has a right to withdraw this notice.
