description
- i.Identify and understand customer attitudes to data sharing, data privacy and related issues that will help shape the future direction of HMRC as set out in the Tax Administration Strategy.
HMRC wants to gather evidence on customers' attitudes on issues concerning data sharing (e.g. data accuracy, and transparency, data privacy and security, pre-population and data use tangible customer benefits). The baseline established will be instrumental in identifying key considerations to help shape the future direction of HMRC as set out in the TAS.
- ii.The research will seek to do this through a mixed-methods approach comprising initial qualitative depth-interviews and focus groups followed by a quantitative survey. The successful contractor will deliver a presentation and written report of interim qualitative findings and a workshop between the qualitative and quantitative stages to review findings and, if the decision is that stage two should go ahead, develop materials for the quantitative stage. Additionally, the successful contractor will deliver a presentation of final findings to stakeholders, and a written report, suitable for publication, presenting the findings. The successful contractor will also provide other outputs to HMRC as set out in the ITT. The purpose of this research is to use the findings from the research to shape and inform the future direction of HMRC as set out in the Tax Administration Strategy. The findings will support ongoing stakeholder engagement and any future consultations in this area.
