description
PACE is a pilot project which has been awarded funding by WYCA as a result of a bid submitted in response to the call "UK Community Renewal Fund (UKCRF) in West Yorkshire " issued by WYCA on the 31st March 2021. The PACE project is a partnership programme between Kirklees Council , Paddock Community Trust and Proper Job theatre company.
The project is designed to respond to Kirklees's 16-25-year olds' employability aspirations with particular focus on those interested in the Arts and Creative economy sector.
Through PACE, Paddock Community Trust and Proper Job Theatre Company will engage participants to the project where they aim to increase participation and opportunities in the local arts and creative economy through a range of activities that remove barriers in accessing these sectors amongst young people. These activities cover community engagement, information, advice and guidance provision, skills development and enterprise and employment support. We will provide wraparound mental health and well-being support. These activities will take place across Kirklees.
Proper Job Theatre Company will deliver a creative skills training programme focused on theatre and film work linked to the Kickstart Scheme. Participants can progress from the taster sessions and skills programme onto work placements within Proper Job's creative programme, partners and external creative businesses in Kirklees.
