description

Forestry England is seeking Expressions of Interest regarding Diseased Ash Tree Felling.

West England Forest District have a number of busy roads with Ash Trees alongside. These trees are showing advanced signs of Ash Dieback and lie within a tree length of the road edge. Some of these trees are not safe to climb due to the percentage of dieback evident in the crown. Of these, some are not readily accessible by machine and will need attention to the crown to allow safe felling.

We are looking for methodologies from the market, which allow for dismantling or removing the diseased crown wood from hard-to-access trees, to ensure safe felling of the main stem.

Example trees are available primarily within the West District, which can be shown on request, with an objective of developing a method statement.
