PSHE Online guidance for schools on body Image.

 Aim:

To raise standards in Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) body confidence lessons by developing guidance for schools on body image resources, and a dissemination strategy for this guidance, in order to ensure teachers have access to the best, quality-assured, resources for work on body image in PSHE.  Objectives:

a). To design and produce online guidance for schools, covering:

Key principles in teaching about body image, including contextualisation, safe classroom discussion, how both boys and girls are affected in similar and different ways, association with eating disorders, association with psychological wellbeing, association with gender equality.

Rated listings of body image resources available to schools. We don’t know how many of these are available, but it may be appropriate to list the ten highest quality.

Signposting to further resources

b). To host and disseminate the guidance so it achieves maximum reach among its target audience.
