description

The purpose of this research task is to undertake an independent and fundamental review of pavement materials performance either/or/both before/during/after installation on the Strategic Road Network (SRN). This task also includes the review and assessment of Highways England texture depth policy, to account for the latest development in survey techniques for asphalt surfacing and surface treatments.

This project is driven by achieving pavement efficiency savings, through the support SES Pavement Team provides to various parts of Highways England including the Operations and Major Projects Directorates.
