description
Digital Catapult is looking for a service designer to join Digital Catapult.

The role would suit an individual who is proactive, creative, flexible, smart, collaborative, a fast learner and comfortable working across all stages of projects from planning to delivery.
The proposed work is in two parts:
- Working with our MI Garage team to deliver a series of targeted interventions for our cohort companies in the areas of Human Centred Design (HCD), UX and Service Design. These interventions will take the form of individual consultations and at least one group workshop.
- Conducting a parallel research activity to adapt existing HCD tools for the context of AI startups and develop new tools where needed. This work will be informed by the experience gained through the targeted interventions as well the experience of the candidate.
What You'll Do:
- You'll collaborate with AI startups on our MI Garage programme, applying the design process to fundamentally de risk the development of prototype AI products by combining business needs with customer insight driven methodologies
- You will work with our design and innovation teams to plan and facilitate workshops on user experience and service design for MI Garage startups
- Through your interactions with AI startups on the programme you will work with our AI and design teams to create relevant design resources that are tailored to the needs of AI startups.
What We're Looking For:
- You can speak to everyone in their language
- You're a great visual thinker, communicator and team player
- You love sinking your teeth into complex challenges and comfortable translating these into simple-to-grasp concepts
- You are a hands-on designer who can translate users' experiences into insight that improves services and build concepts that can be validated and iterated on
- You have a Master's degree in Service Design, User Experience, Design Management or similar.
