Highways England's National Winter & Severe Weather Team (NWT) is seeking technical consultancy support services to deliver continuous improvements in relation to our winter and severe weather service resilience. Specifically, the consultant(s) will provide technical expertise to support Highways England to deliver its objectives in the following areas:

  • winter fleet vehicle replacement;
  • strategic salt management;
  • strategic salt storage contract development;
  • severe weather information service improvements;
  • weather forecasting service improvements;
  • environmental sensor station renewals; &
  • management of vulnerable locations.
