description
IT Delivery Manager (Engineering Services) to deliver multiple phases of work. This role will be a fixed term contract of 12 months and will report directly to the Head of IT Operations but will work closely with existing Delivery Managers within the IT Delivery Management team. Some phases will need to run in parallel in order to ensure that deadlines are achieved:-Phase 1 - to project manage the decommissioning of already identified application, infrastructure and monitoring services, currently outsourced to a third-party provider but no longer required by the MCA. Phase 2 - to work closely with the Infrastructure and Applications teams within IT Operations, and the Technical/Solution Architects within the Technical Office to unpick the contract provided by a named third party with a view of moving commodity services back in house. A complete understanding of the services is needed along with a comprehensive understanding of the risks involved of moving the service inhouse.
Phase 3 - present findings back to the Head of Operations who will then work closely with other 'Heads of' roles to define what bringing in house the currently outsourced services and what the new support structure would need to look like. Phase 4 - management of the recruitment campaign to bring into the IT Directorate all the new roles identified in Phases 2 and 3. Phase 5 - working with Applications and Infrastructure teams, identify any further areas of legacy infrastructure and applications which could be decommissioned in order to reduce cost and to mitigate risks to the business.
