Community Dermatology and Minor Surgery Service on behalf of Hammersmith and Fulham CCG

In Hammersmith and Fulham’s 2015/16 Commissioning Intentions we signalled our intention to commission a Community Dermatology and Minor Surgery service that meets our population needs, is delivered to a high quality standard and provided closer to our patient’s homes.

In order to refine our commissioning approach for the service, develop an innovative model and inform the development of our service specification, NHS Hammersmith and Fulham CCG is engaging early with potential service providers.

A aim of this early market engagement exercise is to also gauge potential interest from the market.

Feedback will then help determine and shape our strategy including whether a competitive procurement process is appropriate.

If a competitive procurement process is considered to be appropriate, it is likely that the following milestones could apply:

1. Procurement to commence towards the start of 2017.

2. Commencement and mobilisation of a new service by the end of quarter 2 2017.

Contingent on the level and nature of market interest in this opportunity, the options for our procurement strategy may include:

1. Conduct a single-stage competitive tender process.

2. Conduct a two-stage competitive tender process.

There is also an on-going discussion with other nearby CCG's for possible collaboration.

Additional information: The Contracting Authority anticipates awarding a contract for 3 years to the appointed provider with the option to extend for a further 2 years at the Contracting Authority’s discretion.

The expected service commencement date is Quarter 2 2017.

The annual value of the contract is estimated to be a block contract for £307,000 per annum.
