Highways England's Safer Roads - People team is seeking specialist support regarding trials of mobile phone detection technologies.

The objectives of this Task are:

To design and execute controlled off-road trials of prototype mobile phone detection technologies, and produce a summary report which provides explanation of system performance, recommendations and a roadmap to implementation.

To conduct trials of mobile phone detection technologies on the Strategic Road Network (SRN) to further understand typical road user behaviour with respect to mobile phone use;

To review existing legislation and provide advice regarding any preparatory actions required to enable the use of any proven systems.
