NHS England is required to ensure that the services its commissions meet the health needs of its responsible population and offers value for money.
Health Needs Assessment (HNAs) are a critical part of the commissioning cycle providing valuable evidence regarding current and future health needs and ensuring that resources continue to be targeted to facilitate the best possible health outcomes.
The Health Needs Assessment will supports commissioners to undertake the following:
| • | to facilitate the understanding of health needs within the identified population |
| • | to identify gaps in service provision, |
| • | to support commissioners and providers to prioritise resources |
| • | To assist decision makers in the maintaining, planning and future improvement of services which address need, efficiency and effectiveness. |
To support this crucial work, applications are invited from interested organisations to undertake a health needs assessment for SARCs within the North Midland region.
This HNA will cover both Adults (over 18) and children and young people from (Age 0-17)
Commencing with a regional summary the HNA data will be further subdivided by the local police force areas.

Once contract has been awarded, convening of a Project Board is required very shortly afterwards with expectation that a Project Plan to be submitted within two weeks for approval.
The draft HNA must be completed by no later than 15th July with the final to be completed by 29th July 2016.
Expressions of interest are invited from organisations qualified to undertake this work by 19th February 2016.
