description
The Department intends to publish a new opportunity in Spring 2025 for suppliers to deliver a range of Innovation Fund grants, worth £2 million broken into individual, smaller grants, as part of the department's Tackling Antisemitism in Education programme. The Tackling Antisemitism in Education Innovation Fund will build upon scholarships, training and resources for schools, colleges and universities delivered by the Tackling Antisemitism in Education procurement ( https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/1346b117-9ccd-4393-955f-3c6a7b4d14f1) and will help facilitate the development of innovative ways to tackle antisemitism across educational settings.
The fund seeks to combat the increase in antisemitism we have seen, including in education settings, through the enhancement of staff and student ability to identify and address cases of antisemitism proactively while educating about antisemitic hate through the creation of resources and tools.
Grants for the fund should focus on defining and tackling key characteristics seen in antisemitism, for example mis and disinformation, and we expect staff and students to be equipped with appropriate knowledge to increase confidence regarding identifying and tackling antisemitism.
Examples of areas to focus on, but not limited to, could include:
- Methods to strengthen student's critical thinking skills to help identify mis and disinformation online and understand its relationship with antisemitism
- Promotion of tolerant discussion and debate
- Interfaith collaboration and awareness of prejudices.
We would like to learn more about sector perspectives and experiences to identify areas where the innovation fund should apply focus to meet the objective of tackling antisemitism in education.
The department is hosting an engagement event on 12th February 2025 between 14:00 and 15:00.
The event will be hosted virtually via MS Teams.
