Expressions of Interest for Community Minor Hand Surgery and Treatment Services for the Adult Population of Southern Derbyshire

NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of NHS Southern Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (SDCCG) is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers' of community minor hand surgery and treatment services for the adult population of Southern Derbyshire.

The aim is to provide a high quality service for specific non-complex conditions related to hands, for example Carpel Tunnel, trigger finger, Dupuytren and ganglion, that would benefit from minor surgery or treatments and can be undertaken safely in the community setting. This will ensure patients have choice and ease of access and to meet the overall objectives of delivering care closer to home.

SDCCG serves a registered population of approximately 548,000 people.

SDCCG would require assurance of competence, quality and safety standards.

The overarching aims of the service are to provide:

• A high quality, local community minor hand surgery and treatment service within NHS Southern Derbyshire.

• Services that comply with accepted best practice, relevant guidelines in clinical practice and robust governance arrangements

• A complete holistic patient-focused care package, including pre and post- operative care, information and advice;

• An opportunity for health promotion;

•Consistent and continuous care between health professionals with effective communication

•Improved access and convenience for patients

•Improved patient choice.

Bidders who have expressed an interest in this market testing exercise will have the opportunity to submit a separate response to the Contract Notice should the CCG decide to procure this service and publish a Contract Notice (advert)
