description
Disabled Adaptations to tenanted homes such as bathroom and kitchen adaptations, internal works to widen doorways for wheelchair users, external adaptations including ramps and paving and building extensions. The works are carried out in tenanted houses and contractors will therefore be expected to ensure the health and safety of the tenants and minimise disruption and inconvenience to the tenants.
Additional information: Brent Housing Partnership Ltd (BHP) is an Arms Length Management Organisation, managing approximately 8500 tenanted homes for Brent Council and 300 homes owned by BHP.
We would like to invite expressions of interest from companies able to carry out disabled adaptations to these properties as and when required. We will appoint one contractor and a reserve. The contract will be for 3 years, commencing March 2015, with the possibility of annual extensions based on performance against KPI’s up to a maximum of 5 years in total.
We expect approximately 80 – 120 referrals a year to a value of approximately £600K, covering a range of works such as bathroom and kitchen adaptations, internal works to widen doorways for wheelchair users, external adaptations including ramps and paving and building extensions. The works are carried out in tenanted houses and contractors will therefore be expected to ensure the health and safety of the tenants and minimise disruption and inconvenience to the tenants.
Contractors will need to show that they have specialised experience with disabled adaptations work in order to be shortlisted.
The PQQ must be obtained and returned electronically through Delta's e-sourcing system.
The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.
