description
The Client will act as the Intelligent Client for DNWP. "Intelligent Client" is defined as the in-house capability which has the responsibility for the ownership, management and delivery of a defined service or range of services. The Intelligent Client is capable of specifying requirements to external participants and managing the delivery outcomes, which requires the selection of appropriate participants and the management of relationships to maximise value.
There are two separate delivery models that may be applied to each project / task, depending on the nature and scoping of the work. The role of the Client resources in each of these is different:
| • | Model 1: Sellafield client oversight - Sellafield, as 'the Client', performs an oversight and assurance role, with delivery being solely conducted by the Contractor |
| • | Model 2: Integrated teams - Sellafield and the Contractor will work as integrated teams to deliver the scope of work (as set out in a specific Call-Off Contract). These teams may be Sellafield led or Contractor led and may be for a single aspect of the delivery lifecycle only, e.g. design, or right across the full lifecycle. Sellafield will still perform an Intelligent Client role under these arrangements in addition to their role as Intelligent Customer. |
Intelligent Customer is defined as the capability of an organisation to understand where and when work is needed; specify what needs to be done; understand and set suitable standards; supervise and control the work; and review, evaluate and accept the work carried out on its behalf.
