Highways England wishes to undertake a research project to provide an updated methodology for assessing certain social impacts (specifically security, access for services, journey quality for pedestrians and cyclists, and physical activity) within built up areas.

Highways England also wish to understand the cumulative impacts of social impacts, identifying existing examples of such approaches in other industries and developing a framework to assess the cumulative effects of social impacts.
