Interim Financial Accountant

Awarded under Ofwat's Conditions of Contract for Temporary Staff (via Intermediary).

The services required are to support the backlog of finance work that has built up whilst the Oracle finance system was implemented. This involves reviewing, developing and documenting processes and handing over these accounting tasks to the Assistant Accountant as business-as-usual work. Support is also required with regards to year end reporting and activities.

The main tasks will include, but not restricted to:

Main tasks:

Capital accounting and reconciliations (fixed assets and leases)

Balance Sheet reconciliations

Purchase orders and goods receipts management Government Procurement Card (GPC) expenses management Taxable expenses calculations

Government data returns preparation and submission Training/handing over finance work to the Assistant Accountant Support for Oracle reporting development (testing reports)

Support implementation of audit recommendations Year-end preparation and closedown activities Reviewing financial policies and support for financial controls Continuous improvement

Other ad hoc tasks to support the Financial Controller

The role shall be a full time position, based on a 7.4hr working day (37 hours a week) excluding breaks and travelling time and 5 days per week.
