description

The contract is for the provision of redevelopment works to the Maitland Park Estate across two sites (Aspen House and Grafton Terrace).

The redevelopment will involve demolition of the outdated 1960s Aspen House, Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) Hall (this was carried out in 2017), gymnasium and garages in order to provide an estimated 112 new homes in a variety of sizes with an approximate 45%/55% split between affordable and private dwellings.

The scheme will deliver a range of benefits including on-site community floor space to replace the existing TRA Hall, with an improved quality and will create an environment that contributes positively to people's health, happiness and well-being.

The landscaping proposal includes improvements to some of the open spaces within the estate. This includes re-surfacing existing pathways, hardstanding areas, creating new squares, lighting, seating arrangements and a new community garden as part of the new TRA Hall.

The project will also include the formation of a Multi-Use Games Area (or age appropriate play equipment) to be located on open space within the estate (location to be agreed).
