description
This project will call on existing research and evidence gathered for recent studies including the Defra evidence review of the concept of flood resilience and work closely with parallel Environment Agency research investigating ways to monitor changes in flood resilience over time (FRS20228 is currently out for tender). FRS20228 will investigate ways to monitor flood resilience over time to better understand the impact of government policies and demonstrate the progress with the 25 YEP ambitions and FCERM Strategy.
This project will evaluate the recently announced Flood and Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme. It will undertake a realist process, impact and economic evaluation to co-ordinate data gathering across the 25 areas in order to gain a better understanding of the cost-benefits of actions to improve resilience to flood and coastal erosion risk and consider which actions work, for whom, and in what circumstance. It will also undertake a process evaluation of the 4 long term investment pathways (adaptive pathways) to inform how other local areas can adopt similar principles or techniques in their flood and coastal erosion risk planning.
