***THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION**** This contract has been awarded against Crown Commercial Services Research Marketplace DPS.
As part of the UK Government's commitment to Net Zero the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) needs to continue to collect and provide for policy development/monitoring and publication a complete set of statistics relating to the generation and use of renewable energy in the UK.
Whilst the main statistical surveys of renewable electricity generation from major power producers are carried out by the BEIS energy statistics team, this project provides essential data on small scale renewable sources (companies with renewable portfolios below 50 MW) and renewable heat.
A contractor is being sought to carry out the tasks of:
| • | collecting data on capacity, fuel used, and generation, and compile these to produce renewable energy statistics; |
| • | ensuring that the procedures/methodologies used and resulting data comply with the Code of Practice for Statistics, issued by the UK Statistics Authority; |
| • | preparing datasets for inclusion within annual, quarterly and monthly statistical publications, supplying data in a suitable format to load into the Energy Stats databases; |
| • | producing data to enable the UK to meet its annual reporting requirements for the International Energy Agency and to meet other international commitments; |
| • | improving the quality and completeness of the data; |
| • | fully detail methods and transfer knowledge to BEIS; |
| • | provide limited ad hoc consultancy to the BEIS energy statistics team on Renewable Energy. |
